The long awaited concealer from Lisa Eldridge is finally here

Finally, a concealer that doesn't sink into fine lines, in shades generous enough that most people will find their match.

Lisa Eldridge has spent three decades making other people's faces for a living, so when she puts her name on a concealer, the industry tends to sit up. Her résumé is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here, and to be fair to her, it earns it.

The pitch is the now-standard "serum that happens to have pigment in it," 80% skincare ingredients apparently, built around silver mushroom extract, squalane and camellia seed oil, all of which sound lovely and none of which you should expect to notice doing anything specific for your skin in the way a proper serum would. What you will notice is the texture: fluid, slippy, genuinely more comfortable under the eye than most concealers twice its price, and it doesn't sit in the little creases the way heavier formulas do on skin that's stopped being twenty five. That's not nothing. A concealer that ages with you rather than against you is rarer than the marketing on this shelf would suggest.

Thirty-two shades is proper effort, and the undertone splits (olive gets its own category, which matters more than brands seem to realise) mean most people should find something close. My best matches ever are in her foundation. Coverage is buildable rather than instant, so if you're hiding something determined, a spot having its main character moment, say, you'll need to layer it and possibly still reach for something heavier-duty on top. This is a concealer for evening out and brightening, not for camouflage. Don't buy this concealer for the wrong job!

If you find luminous concealers make you look oily by 3pm, a light dusting of powder sorts it, this isn't a formula that's fighting you, it's just leaning towards glow rather than matte by design.

Verdict: a genuinely well-made, comfortable, skin-first concealer from someone who has actually applied several thousand faces of it professionally. Buy it for the finish and the shade range, not for whatever the mushroom is meant to be doing.
